I don’t like to drive at night, but Thursday daylight hours might just have well been night, it got so unbelievably dark! It was threatening rain, and we hurried to get out in order to be able to hook up and not get soaked, which we made, but drove through a few downpours, and black threatening skies. Stopped for gas and a lunch break at a truck stop, and several trucks pulled out as it darkened badly, probably to try and miss it, but I don’t think there was an escape. The wind picked up and buffeted a bit from time to time, but basically we drove in and out of the cells, so not too bad. Stopped at the Kentucky welcome center, where a young man proved very helpful in helping us plan to see everything on my list, and we left armed with maps and brochures. Pulled in around 5:30, making a long day of it, and yet in good spirits, made some dinner, and worked on my blog while Clem watched TV.
