Well, here it is Friday, and we have been at what feels like our home away from home at Boston Minuteman Campground since Sunday afternoon!
We had dinner at an Italian restaurant in Concord with Cindy and David one night, and Chris came for a visit after work another.
On Wednesday while the guys played golf again, Cindy and I went to Tower Hill Botanical Garden, had lunch, and strolled the gardens and paths. It has been hot here, like most of the country, plus very dry, and it was evident in some plants, but it was still lovely.
Nice spot for lunch on the deck overlooking the woods and reservoir.

There was a special exhibit by Patrick Doherty, an artist who creates stick installations in gardens throughout the US and even other countries. I personally don't really get it, but he has gained some acclaim and has a book, and we saw an installation someplace else on our travels. Where exactly, we don't remember! I would have to check my blog!
A path we followed revealed Roman statues popping up along the way, which seemed very curious, but we finally discovered a sign that explained their existence.
The girls are at camp during the day, and Chris is working of course , but last night they were all able to come for dinner, and a fun visit! I learned from the girls that a move we do in a Zumba is called a “dab”, and then got a demonstration of some others, and we shared some laughs over that and other things before they had to leave. No campfire, as everyone had an early morning again, so we saved S’mores for the next time, and had the turtle brownies I had baked at home and brought in the freezer.
Emma texted me after they left and wondered if I was going to make that “ orange and marshmallow salad thing”. I made ambrosia last time we were here, which she had never had, and she obviously liked it! I aim to please, so I will put that on the menu for next time! I realized this morning that I hadn’t taken any photos......I’m slipping!
Today we went and looked at a vacation community nearby for possibly renting or buying in the future, had lunch at a cute new restaurant, and now I am sitting in the shade of a big pine tree typing this. No humidity, warm temps, and the birds are chirping.....very pleasant. Will read my book, maybe nod off a bit, and then a movie with the kids tonight. This weekend they all have time to spend with us, and we will do some exploring together.

The summer issue of Audubon has an article about these nests. A guy in CA is making them too. He says it’s good to clear away all this kindling. What a magic way to do it.
